Key West Selectively Enforces Laws to Oppress Freedom of Speech!

The Citizen is reporting the tragedy of Key West City Officials painting over views expressed on a wall slated to be torn down to complete the silly project on Virginia Street...and giving out citations as Christmas presents! (Read about it here in the Citizen) This project is a waste of fiscal stimulus funds, a destruction of the character of Key West, and now we have this abuse!
Some City official actually made the decision to do this. Who was it? Key West could have overlooked this, as they do with plenty of their selective enforcement! The fact is that according to Florida's Adverse Possession Law the property could possibly be owned by the homeowner anyway. Especially since they built a fence or structure around it, and it is "protected by a substantial enclosure." Section 95.16(b)
Kudos to Commissioner Lopez for expressing his outrage!
Just as with the recent mangrove clearing, a specific individual gave the very clear directive to have this done, and the citations are adding insult to injury! Who was it? We'll find out. We will find out.
