Deputy Fricke Not Alone in Leaving Weapons in Patrol Car

Ramsay Has Also Left His Weapon in a Vehicle

Not just unattended... but in plain view...
....with the window open!

While the MCSO and the community as a whole has been stirred up recently after the break-in and theft of weapons and SWAT gear from a Sergeant's MCSO patrol car, (See Here) it has come to our attention that Second in Command at the MCSO, and candidate for Sheriff, Rick Ramsay has made a similar blunder in the past as well.

We obtained this MCSO Internal Review Record of Colonel Ramsay from a former Sheriff's candidate that wished to remain anonymous named Bill.  Or Ed, or Edwin or something...

Regardless, in this report, at the bottom we see the sustained allegation of "Left Weapon in plain view in unattended car with window open," which resulted in a disciplinary action of a "Letter of Counseling."

Let's see if Fricke is disciplined in a similar manner, who by all accounts at least had the awareness to lock the vehicle....oh, and roll up the windows.

Full report below.

  1. Video on you tube: The question was "What are the top three qualities that qualify you to be Sheriff?"

Ramsay says the first reason he's best for being sheriff is his honesty. Really? Check out the video starting at the 6:20 mark listen to Ramsay say he's never been disciplined,... Fact is Ramsay lied to the public and said at the same time his honesty was one of most important reasons people should vote for him. I can't vote for a liar!

    1. Nice catch! We've compiled that video in another post, as we have awarded Colonel Ramsay with a Naked Conch Truth in Campaigning Award.

    2. Another published comment without the facts.
A written Letter of Counseling, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office written Policy’s and Procedure’s, as well as the forms in Internal Affairs, clearly state “Letters of Counseling are not considered discipline”. If page two of this document was also published it clearly states this.
Therefore Col. Rick Ramsay did not lie. According to the Sheriff’s Office, discipline starts at a written Letter of Reprimand up to and including termination. Has been like that far before Ramsay was running for Sheriff .

I could not believe Ramasy lied so I checked. Public records allow you to pull his records. Do it yourself instead of listening to half published information.
I researched it before I made comment….you should also! It is the responsible thing to
Keeping in fashion with just providing partial information is just as bad as lying. Shame on you.

    3. Yes you are correct. Currently the policy of the Sheriffs office states a letter of counseling is not discipline. However you omit an important part of that policy. Your ommision unlike Mr. Gardi's would appear to be intentional. You said you researched this before you wrote your comment and you correctly reference the current policy and mention it is on the second page of this three page summary of Mr. Ramsay's IA file. You fail to correctly quote the policy and the statement on the second page. The statement on the second page of the document, you said you obtained by a request for public records, states in bold letters, double the font of the rest of the page and in all capital letters the following: "as of 9/2/98 a letter of counseling and/or retraining is considered non-discipline action". It is difficult for me to believe you failed to see this full statement. It is difficult for me to believe you failed to realize in 1989 when Mr. Ramsay received this letter of counseling it was considered discipline. Mr. Gardi failing to quote the current policy, that did not apply at the time of the incident, appears to be a non factor. Your omission on the other hand appears to be an attempt to cast doubt on a set of facts which might be harmful to your candidate of choice. You accuse Mr. Gardi of failing to to research, while you provide half truths to back up your claims. You sir did research, discovered a way to cast doubt and mislead readers and made a choice to do so. Then boldly claim Gardi provides partial information. No sir shame on you!
